I consider myself to be (mostly) an optimist. I have been thinking a lot about this lately. I think being an optimist is a lot like being a closer in baseball. I don’t know a lot about baseball, (I’m a cubs fan so that proves I don’t know baseball) but I have heard that the best weapon a closer can have is being able to forget what happened yesterday and believe that he can win every time he takes the mound. With that belief comes great risk and being an optimist takes great risk as well, but the alternative to me is untenable. You can’t win if you don’t risk losing.
This all came about because I was laughing to myself the other day thinking that “maybe I’m just too stupid to know when I’ve been beaten” then I realized that no, being able to forget my setbacks and press on is really the essence of optimism.
So I got that going for me…which is nice J

6 rules of life

“The six rules of life.
1. Don't like something just because you think other people will like it, because they won't.
2. What you think is important isnt. What you think is unimportant is.
3. Lean into it.
4. Don't shit where you eat.
5. Most doors are closed so if you want them to open you need a cool knock.
6. Don't sleep with people who have more problems than you do.”

Hey Bro...

Whats up Bro? Hows it going Bro? Thanks Bro!...UGH the term Bro is way over used. every guy with a bike automatically thinks that every other guy with a bike is his brother. I hate this. most of these wet behind the ears shaved tails dont know the first thing about brotherhood, the sacrafice it takes, the love it takes, the dedication it takes. There is nothing greater than being loved by a group of bikers and there is nothing more pathetic than posing as one....

Bike blessing

Went to a bike blessing today, I knew it would be good when I saw the preacher take 4 shots  as soon as he got to the bar. Met some old friends and made some new ones, that's what life is all about right?
Ok, on the love font if looks like my lady and I patched things up. I must admit this one was pretty much all my fault.

Belong

What do you do if you just don't belong, if you have a house but no home. If you have people who love you but no family.
I'll tell you what you do, you hold you're head up. You RIDE and Brotherhood will be revealed to you. I am one of these people, thrown away by those I have trusted with my heart. This has shown me that only Brothers can be fully trusted to accept me as I am. It has also shown me that I have behaved in unacceptable ways in the past. I will live and bleed and die for my club and my Brothers and I will be just as true to my lady.
I may never have a home again, I may never feel I really belong anywhere, but I have my club and I have my lady and they have me.

Early Spring

An early spring has sprung bring summer like temps to northern IL. I for one am grateful. I was able to get out early and often and blow some of the winter blues out early. It was really needed I can tell you. It was a long lonely winter.
Spring has brought with it a gift, a new lady in my life that has reminded me of what is really important in this world and in a relationship. something special is happening, I can feel it.

I hope you ride safe my friends,

Until next time,
